about
Mike Vial is donating the sales of his new song, “Damn Fine Day,” to the Howell Opera House’s “Restore the Glory” campaign. The song can be downloaded for a minimum donation of $2.00. All sales (after the small nominal Paypal/Bandcamp fee) are being donated to the Livingston Arts Council’s campaign, which lasts till March 31, 2012!
Here's another great reason to donate: Two donors are tripling the donations to the Howell Opera House’s “Restore the Glory” campaign made by March 31st! More info at

David Mosher recorded Mike Vial's “Damn Fine Day” at his home studio in Livingston County. Mosher is also playing mandolin and bass on the recording, and Hannah Fralick is singing harmony. The song offers an optimistic theme about making the “most of the meantime” during difficult times.
This is the first project of Mike's Great Lake Effect charity idea: Michigan made songs, by Michigan artists, for Michigan charities. Find out more information at

lyrics
Damn Fine Day
I can read your eyes, I can see you’re sad
I can feel your heart beat away the bad
Bad times we’ve fallen on…
It’s like we found our lives stuck on pause
Feel an endless strain but never find the cause
Well the world can’t keep us down
Today will be a damn fine day
Today, we’ll pretend that it’s a holiday
Get dressed in your best
And dress me up in mine
We’ll make the most of the meantime
I will take you back to that summer’s day
Where we promised to never betray
Each other or those dreams we had
Let’s go out, paint the town red
Dance to your favorite songs until we crash in bed
Well the world can’t keep us down
Today will be a damn fine day
Today, we’ll pretend that it’s a holiday
Get dressed in your best
And dress me up in mine
We’ll make the most of the meantime
Even I’ll admit
There are days where I feel my spirit
Fade into the night that was once starlit
Stars array when you smile
I don’t know how I got this far
Behind the chase of a lucky star
When it’s only you I need
And the world can’t keep us down
Today will be a damn fine day
Today, we’ll pretend that it’s a holiday
Get dressed in your best
And dress me up in mine
We’ll make the most of the meantime
Stars array when you smile
